soko2PASTOR ERICH SOKOLOSKI, Associate Pastor.   Pastor Erich was born in Seattle and has spent most of his life in the Pacific Northwest. He met his wife, Tricia, in the 8th grade at Central Lutheran Christian School in Tacoma. They married when they were both 20 years old, and they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary earlier this year.  Erich and Tricia together studied at Western Washington University and the University of Hull, England. While studying abroad, they traveled several countries in Western and Eastern Europe. In 1999 they both graduated from Western Washington University. Tricia graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Erich graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.  In 2005, Erich attended Faith Evangelical Seminary (Originally Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary). He graduated in 2009 with a Masters of Divinity. That same year, he was ordained at Central Lutheran Church into the Conservative Lutheran Association (CLA) and joined the LCMC clergy roster in 2010.  Before accepting the position of Associate Pastor at ALC, he served at Central Lutheran Church as Senior Pastor and at Faith Evangelical Seminary as Professor of Undergraduate Studies where he taught Christian doctrine, apologetics, philosophy, Biblical studies, church history and Lutheran confessional theology.  For pleasure, Erich enjoys reading, writing, hiking, camping, and traveling. He has a heart for quality and creativity in different forms of artistic expression. He loves craftsmanship and has a deep appreciation for old things. Above all else, he believes in Jesus as his Lord and Savior, daily seeks to grow in his relationship with Him, and has a great passion to share His living and active Word.  Erich and Tricia have three children, ages 12, 9, and 7.

7-2-14 Pastor Don McMillan-6PASTOR DON MCMILLAN, Pastor of Caring Ministries.   Prior to joining the Pastoral staff of ALC in June 2014, Pastor Don most recently served as Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Hill, NE.  He has served as a chaplain, for two years with hospitals and three years with Hospice Compassus. Pastor Don has also served two other Lutheran congregations: Shepherd of the Hills in Flagstaff, and King of Glory in Fountain Valley, CA. Prior to the ministry, Pastor Don had a career as an audiologist, fitting hearing aids and administering hearing tests in schools and in industry. He worked his way through college as a EMT with several ambulance companies, and he has enjoyed employment in many areas, including retail sales for sporting goods, florist shops, and department stores; custodial and maintenance work; and as a bus driver. Pastor Don is a graduate of the University of Arizona and Idaho State University, and he holds a Master of Divinity from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. He has taken classes at several community colleges and seminaries as well.  Of particular interest: Pastor Don is a former member of ALC who was confirmed here in 1972 and met his wife, Janis here in 1981; they were married at ALC in 1984.  For fun, Pastor Don enjoys walking and bicycling, listening to and performing music, reading, and watching old movies. “I am happy to reconnect with American Lutheran and being with all of you as we journey together in faith through joys, challenges, milestones and simply whatever daily life brings.”
