Pastoral Staff
Pastor Dan Storvick, Senior Pastor. Born into a parsonage, son of a Lutheran pastor. Swore he would never become a pastor, thereby proving that God has a sense of humor. Lakewood High School, 1965. B.A., Cal Lutheran College, 1969. M.Div., Luther Seminary, 1973. D. Min., Fuller Seminary, 1998. Ordained by his father, June, 1973. Served churches in southern California (Granada Hills and Yorba Linda) and AELC since 1988. Love being a pastor: “Would sign up to do it again tomorrow.” Greatest ministry joys: Preaching, teaching, hanging with the people, sharing in their joys and sorrows. Greatest ministry disappointments: Seeing people turn away from God’s offer of life abundant, refusing to trust his promises and obey his commands. Loves, likes and hobbies: Wife, kids, and grandkids; cooking, camping, traveling; fishing (with someone who knows how), hunting (hope I’ll get one some day), and woodworking (when I can dig my equipment out from under garden rakes and Christmas lights).
