As always, donations of new and GENTLY used clothing, shoes, belts, accessories, etc. are being accepted. Monetary donations are also needed to purchase underwear, socks, and bras.
Ongoing Donations Needed for Teens’ Closet:
Clean, casual clothing and accessories in new or very gently used condition for both male and
female high school students. Clothing such as jeans, t-shirts, pullover shirts, button-down shirts, zip-up or pullover hoodies, jackets/coats, and casual shoes. (No socks or underwear, please.)
Personal care items for both girls and guys: Razors, shaving cream, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, soap, deodorant, body spray, and acne control face wash.
You may drop off your donations in one of the Teens’ Closet bins at the church (upper level hallway, next to Noah’s Nursery) or The Rock, or bring them to the church office during the week or on Sunday mornings.
MOMS’ CLOSET IS NOW OPEN! Moms’ Closet is located at The Rock (655 Talwatha Drive, Prescott). This outreach provides clothing to moms in need in the Prescott Quad-City area, by appointment; call or text (928) 379-1667.
NEW and LIKE NEW clothing items and accessories appropriate for moms are being accepted; donation bins are available at the church (upper level hallway, next to Noah’s Nursery) and at The Rock. Volunteers are always needed – call or text (928) 379-1667 if you would like to serve.
TAYLOR HICKS ANGEL FUND – As approved by the Board of Deacons, ALC has adopted local Taylor Hicks Elementary School (“Home of the Bobcats”) to assist in providing food, clothing, and other essentials for a growing number of local students in need. Through the TAYLOR HICKS ANGEL FUND, ALC members and friends can make contributions which will allow for the purchase of outerwear, footwear, and other basic clothing; gift cards to local grocery stores for food and necessary items; and Christmas gift cards — all to be distributed directly to students from the Taylor Hicks administrative office as the needs arise. You may give to the Taylor Hicks Angel Fund: In your regular weekly offering (designate “Taylor Hicks Angel Fund” and the amount on the offering envelope); online through Special Fund Giving on the Give Online webpage; or in the church office during the week.
GOOD NEWS PUPPET MINISTRY is led by Dick Morgan (237-4054). All who are of beginning reading age and up are welcome to participate. Contact Dick for information on how to get involved in this fun, exciting, and growing new ministry!
YOUNG AT HEART Ministry for Seniors meets the fourth Tuesday of each month (September – November and January – May) at Noon in the Fellowship Hall. A delicious homemade hot meal is served ($4 – includes beverage and dessert), followed by a program that will entertain, inspire and enlighten. The programs are varied in style: Slide presentations, singers/musicians, historians, artists, etc. All are invited to attend!
