American Evangelical Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the
ELCA - The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The ELCA came into
being in January 1988 when three Lutheran bodies - the Lutheran Church in
America (LCA), the American Lutheran Church (ALC) and the American
Evangelical Lutheran Church (AELC) merged. Other Lutheran bodies
include the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) and the Wisconsin
Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
At American Lutheran Church in Prescott, Arizona we believe that a
responsible church member is:
One who believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and seeks to
live for Him
One who worships regularly
One who is committed to growth through adult education
One who seeks to serve through the many volunteer opportunities
of this congregation
One who gives regularly to God through this congregation
One who prays regularly
One who shares his/her faith with others
All are invited to participate in the life of this congregation
- members
and non-members.
